Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 and 1/2 cups milk chocolate M&Ms
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup M&Ms for garnish
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300Β°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. Lightly grease parchment paper and set aside
  3. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter in short intervals until smooth
  5. Whisk in vanilla extract
  6. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing until combined
  7. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition
  8. Stir in milk until fully incorporated
  9. Add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix gently until just combined
  10. Fold in M&Ms and chocolate chips
  11. Scoop dough into 1/4 cup portions onto prepared baking sheets
  12. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes until edges are set
  13. Press extra M&Ms and chocolate chips on top while cookies are warm
  14. Cool completely on baking sheet before serving
