Description

Sloppy Joe Casserole is a simple and satisfying family meal that combines seasoned ground beef, tender pasta, tangy sloppy joe sauce, and plenty of melted cheese. It’s an easy weeknight dinner that’s hearty, comforting, and ready in just over 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 10 ounces uncooked farfalle (bowtie) pasta
  • 15 ounces Manwich sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Cook the farfalle pasta until al dente and drain well.
  4. Brown the ground beef with the diced onion and bell pepper over medium-high heat.
  5. Drain any excess grease.
  6. Stir in the Manwich sauce, cooked pasta, and 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  7. Mix until everything is evenly combined.
  8. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and top with the remaining cheese.
  11. Broil for 1–2 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  12. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve with garlic bread or dinner rolls.
  • Pair with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley for extra color.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze individual portions for up to 3 months.
  • Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • Reheat in the microwave or oven until heated through.
  • Add a splash of water or extra sauce if the casserole seems dry when reheating.
