M&M Cookie Bars are soft, buttery, and loaded with chocolate in every bite. They combine the classic flavor of homemade cookies with the convenience of a sheet pan dessert, making them perfect for parties, holidays, bake sales, and family gatherings. These bars are thick, chewy, and packed with both chocolate chips and colorful candy-coated chocolates for a fun and irresistible treat that everyone loves.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups light brown sugar (or dark brown sugar)
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups M&M’s (divided)
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 11×17 rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs (lightly beaten) and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
- Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until a thick dough forms
- Fold in chocolate chips and 1 cup of M&M’s until evenly distributed
- Spread dough evenly into the prepared baking sheet and press firmly into corners
- Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of M&M’s on top
- Bake for 20–22 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and center is just set
- Allow bars to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting
- Cool completely for clean slicing, then cut into 36 bars
Notes
