  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

Maple Vanilla Candied Pecans are sweet, crunchy, and full of warm cinnamon and vanilla flavor. Made with just five simple ingredients, these oven-roasted pecans are an easy recipe for holiday snacks, party treats, homemade gifts, or a delicious topping for salads and desserts. Naturally sweetened with maple syrup, they’re simple to prepare and wonderfully addictive!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecans
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Place the pecans in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Toss everything together until the pecans are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Roast for approximately 20 minutes, stirring halfway through to encourage even browning.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the pecans cool completely on the baking sheet.
  8. Once cooled, the maple coating will become firmer and the pecans will develop a delicious crunchy texture.
  9. Transfer to an airtight container or jar for storage.

Notes

  • For snacking: Serve these pecans in a small bowl for an easy afternoon snack or party treat.
  • For salads: Sprinkle them over spinach salads, mixed greens, or roasted vegetable salads for a sweet crunch.
  • For breakfast: Add them to oatmeal, yogurt bowls, granola, or pancakes.
  • For desserts: Use them as a topping for ice cream, cheesecake, brownies, or apple pie.
  • Cool completely: Allow the pecans to cool fully before storing so trapped steam doesn’t soften the coating.
  • Room-temperature storage: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1–2 weeks for best quality.
  • Refrigeration: Keep them refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
  • Freezing: Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
  • Prevent sticking: Use parchment paper and stir the pecans halfway through baking.
  • Gift idea: Package cooled pecans in decorative jars or small treat bags for homemade holiday gifts.
