Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms

  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms are the ultimate side dish or appetizer when you need something quick, creamy, and full of flavor. This recipe combines tender mushrooms with rich Parmesan cheese, cream, and savory garlic, creating a restaurant-quality dish in under 20 minutes. Perfect for family dinners, holidays, or party appetizers, these mushrooms pair wonderfully with grilled meats, pasta, or served simply with crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 400 g whole white mushrooms (washed and dried)
  • ¼ cup cream cheese (cut into small cubes)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream (33%)
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp dry ground oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tbsp fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large 12-inch frying pan, heat butter, olive oil, and garlic over medium-high heat.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Lower heat to medium-low, then add Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce is thick and creamy.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms are best served hot right out of the pan, when the sauce is rich and creamy. They pair perfectly with steak, chicken, pork chops, pasta, or can be enjoyed on toasted bread as a hearty appetizer. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. When reheating, warm them gently on the stovetop with a splash of cream to restore the sauce’s smooth consistency. Freezing is not recommended as the creamy sauce may separate once thawed.
