Description
This Crockpot Honey Garlic Chicken is an easy, flavorful dinner made with tender chicken simmered in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. With minimal prep and simple ingredients, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and pairs beautifully with rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, making sure it is evenly coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir it into the sauce.
- Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Serve the chicken over steamed white rice, brown rice, fried rice, or noodles. Steamed broccoli, green beans, or carrots also make excellent side dishes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop with a small splash of water or broth. The cooked chicken can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
