Crispy Golden Fried Chicken Plate

  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

Crispy Golden Fried Chicken Plate is a classic comfort meal that combines juicy, well-seasoned fried chicken with a fresh and crunchy salad. The chicken is marinated in buttermilk for tenderness, coated in seasoned flour for a golden crisp texture, and fried until perfectly crunchy on the outside while staying juicy inside. Served with a simple salad of lettuce, cucumber, and tomatoes, this dish balances richness with freshness, making it ideal for family dinners, weekend meals, or special gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4–5 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 cups lettuce
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight for better tenderness.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour with a pinch of salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade and dredge each piece thoroughly in the seasoned flour until well coated.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry chicken on medium heat until golden brown and crispy on the outside and fully cooked inside.
  5. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Prepare the salad by combining lettuce, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes in a bowl.
  7. Serve crispy fried chicken with fresh salad on the side.

Notes

  • Serve hot for the best crunch and juiciness.
  • Pair with dipping sauces like garlic mayo, ranch, or spicy ketchup.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness; avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess.
  • Store salad separately to keep it fresh and crunchy.
