Chocolate Drink

  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

This creamy homemade chocolate drink is rich, smooth, and packed with chocolate flavor. Made with milk, cocoa powder, powdered milk, sugar, and real chocolate, it is easy to prepare and tastes especially delicious when served ice-cold.

Ingredients

  • 1 litre liquid milk
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ cup powdered milk
  • ½ cup sugar, or to taste
  • 100 g chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or chocolate flavor
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Add the liquid milk, cocoa powder, powdered milk, sugar, chopped chocolate, vanilla or chocolate flavor, and water to a saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over low to medium heat.
  3. Whisk continuously until the cocoa, powdered milk, sugar, and chocolate are completely dissolved.
  4. Continue heating until the drink becomes smooth, creamy, and deeply chocolatey.
  5. Avoid bringing the mixture to a heavy boil, as this can affect the texture and flavor.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  7. Allow the chocolate drink to cool completely.
  8. Using a funnel, carefully pour the cooled drink into clean drink nylons.
  9. Leave some space at the top of each nylon to allow for expansion when chilled or frozen.
  10. Tie each nylon securely.
  11. Place the filled nylons in the refrigerator or freezer until thoroughly chilled.
  12. Serve cold and enjoy.

Notes

  • Serve the chocolate drink well chilled for the best flavor.
  • Shake the drink gently before serving if the chocolate settles slightly.
  • For a richer drink, serve it with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
  • Make sure the drink nylons are clean and food-safe before filling.
  • Keep refrigerated and consume within a few days for the freshest taste.
  • If freezing, leave extra space in the nylons because the liquid expands as it freezes.
  • Thaw frozen portions in the refrigerator rather than leaving them at room temperature for an extended period.
  • Do not repeatedly freeze and thaw the same portion.
  • For the best texture, stir or shake the drink after thawing.
