Chocolate Chip Cake
- One 15.25-ounce box white cake mix
- 1¼ cups water
- ⅓ cup canola or vegetable oil
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup miniature chocolate chips
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 2½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
- Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
- ½ cup salted butter, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions
Prepare the Cheesecake
- Preheat oven to 325°F and prepare a 9-inch springform pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper
- Beat cream cheese until smooth
- Add sugar and salt, mix well for 2 minutes
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition
- Mix in sour cream, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth
- Fold in chocolate chips
- Pour into pan and bake for 45 minutes until set
- Cool completely, then freeze for several hours or overnight
Prepare the Cake Layers
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 9-inch cake pans
- Mix cake mix, water, oil, and egg whites until combined
