Air Fryer Pumpkin Seeds

  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

Air Fryer Pumpkin Seeds are a quick, crispy, and flavorful snack made from fresh pumpkin seeds. With just a little butter or olive oil and simple seasonings, they become perfectly roasted in the air fryer in minutes. They are an easy way to use pumpkin seeds during the fall season and make a delicious snack for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove the top of the pumpkin by cutting a circle around the stem with a sharp knife.
  2. Use a spoon to scrape the pulp and seeds from inside the pumpkin.
  3. Place the pumpkin pulp and seeds in a bowl of water.
  4. Separate the pulp from the seeds and rinse the seeds thoroughly in a colander with cold water.
  5. Spread the seeds out and make sure they are completely dry before cooking. Removing excess moisture helps them become crisp.
  6. Transfer the dry pumpkin seeds to a bowl.
  7. Add the melted butter or olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Toss well until all the pumpkin seeds are evenly coated.
  9. Spread the seasoned seeds evenly in the air fryer basket.
  10. Air fry at 360Β°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
  11. Shake the basket halfway through cooking to help the seeds roast evenly.
  12. Check the seeds after 10 minutes and continue cooking if they are not as crisp as you prefer.
  13. If needed, air fry for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  14. Allow the pumpkin seeds to cool before serving.
  15. Taste and adjust the seasoning if desired.

Notes

  • Serve the pumpkin seeds as a crunchy snack between meals.
  • Add them to salads, soups, oatmeal, or roasted vegetables for extra texture.
  • They are delicious served warm or completely cooled.
  • Allow the seeds to cool completely before storing them.
  • Store cooled pumpkin seeds in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Keep them in a cool, dry place for the best texture.
  • Avoid storing them while they are still warm because trapped moisture can make them soft.
  • If the seeds lose some crispness, place them back in the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
