  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

White Queso Dip is a creamy, smooth, and slightly spicy cheese sauce inspired by Mexican restaurants. Perfect for parties, game days, or casual snacking, this dip pairs wonderfully with tortilla chips, vegetables, or even drizzled over tacos and nachos. With a simple combination of white American cheese, milk, and spices, you can make this restaurant-quality dip right at home in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound white American cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped jalapeno and sauté for 2–3 minutes until tender.
  3. Pour in the milk and stir in the cornstarch until the mixture is bubbling and hot.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add the cubed cheese, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  5. Mix in chili powder, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until fully blended.

Notes

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips or your preferred dippers.
  • Serve immediately for the creamiest texture.
  • Keep the dip warm over low heat if serving at a party.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, stirring occasionally to maintain creaminess.
