It’s incredibly easy to make and perfect for holidays, potlucks, or when you need a no-fail dessert that everyone raves about.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup salted butter, softened (not melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C)
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs until light and foamy
  3. Add flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar; mix until combined
  4. Mix in softened butter and vanilla until smooth
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using)
  6. Pour batter into prepared pie crust and smooth the top
  7. Bake for 50–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted halfway between center and crust comes out clean
  8. Cool slightly before slicing and serving

  • For cleaner slices, let the pie cool completely
  • Store covered at room temperature for 2 days
  • Refrigerate for up to 5 days
  • Freeze baked pie (wrapped tightly) for up to 3 months
  • Reheat slices in the microwave for 15–20 seconds
