1 tsp Onion Powder
½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
¼ cup Beer (optional)
3-4 cups Water
½ tsp Paprika
Pinch of Sugar
1 tbsp Chili Powder
2 tbsp Tomato Paste

Instructions

  • Cover the ground beef with water and break up the meat completely

  • Add beer (if using), minced onion, salt, black pepper, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, sugar, chili powder, ketchup, and hot sauce

  • Bring the mixture to a rapid boil over medium-high heat

  • Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally

  • Continue simmering until most of the water has reduced; increase heat slightly if you want to speed up the process

  • Cook for a few more minutes to fully incorporate the tomato paste

  • Serve hot as a topping for hot dogs

  • Pair with your favorite hot dog condiments like mustard, diced onions, shredded cheese, or pickles

  • Use leftover chili sauce as a topping for baked potatoes, burgers, or nachos

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days

  • Freeze any extra chili sauce in freezer-safe containers or bags for up to 3 months

  • To reheat, thaw frozen chili sauce in the refrigerator overnight and warm gently on the stove or in the microwave
