Description

Looking for a quick and delicious summer dessert that’s perfect for kids and adults alike? These S’more Banana Boats are a fun and easy treat you can make on the grill, in the oven, or even over a campfire. With minimal ingredients and maximum flavor, this recipe brings all the goodness of classic s’mores with a fruity twist. Whether you’re planning a backyard BBQ, a camping trip, or just want a simple dessert without turning on the stove for too long, these banana boats are a must-try.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • Chocolate chips (any kind you prefer)
  • Small marshmallows
  • 1 graham cracker, crushed
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Peel the banana and slice it lengthwise down the center, without cutting all the way through.
  2. Gently pull the banana apart to create a pocket.
  3. Fill the inside with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips to your liking.
  4. Place the stuffed banana on a square of aluminum foil.
  5. Loosely tent the foil over the banana to prevent the toppings from sticking.
  6. Grill or bake at 375°F for 5–6 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and marshmallows are gooey.
  7. Carefully open the foil and sprinkle crushed graham crackers on top.
  8. Let it cool slightly, then enjoy straight from the foil or scoop into a bowl.

Notes

  • Serve the banana boat warm, straight from the foil for easy cleanup.

  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.

  • Let kids customize their own banana boats with different toppings like peanut butter chips, crushed cookies, or sprinkles.

  • For a fun presentation, serve in a bowl with extra crushed graham crackers on the bottom.

Storage Tips:

  • S’more banana boats are best enjoyed immediately while warm and gooey.

  • If you have leftovers, wrap them tightly in aluminum foil and refrigerate for up to 1 day.

  • To reheat, place the foil-wrapped banana in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes or until warm.

  • Avoid freezing, as the texture of the banana will become mushy.
