Ingredients

  • 5 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups graham crackers, roughly chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup (1/2 stick) salted butter
  • 10-ounce bag marshmallows
  • 7-ounce container marshmallow creme
  • 12.75-ounce (3 4.25-ounce) Hershey’s special dark XL chocolate bars

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 10×15 inch jelly roll pan (or lipped quarter baking sheet pan) with parchment paper, ensuring enough overhang to cover the sides. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, gently mix together the rice krispies cereal, chopped graham crackers, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Melt Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted, about 5-8 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Remove the pan from heat and gently fold in the rice krispies cereal mixture until evenly coated. Press the mixture into the prepared pan in an even layer.
  5. Layer Marshmallow Creme and Chocolate: Spread marshmallow creme over the middle of the rice krispie treats, leaving a border. Place the chocolate bars on the marshmallow layer, side by side, leaving a slightly larger gap on one short side.
  6. Broil Chocolate: Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil for 1 minute or until the chocolate has melted slightly. Spread chocolate with a spatula until evenly distributed, leaving a gap on one short side.
  7. Roll Treats: Allow treats to cool for 5-7 minutes, then gently roll starting from the side with the most chocolate until completely rolled. Place seam side down on the baking sheet.
  8. Chill and Slice: Chill the treat for 4 hours to overnight, or until completely set. Once set, slice the log into individual rolls. Allow treats to come to room temperature before serving.

Notes

  1. Perfect Presentation: For a stunning presentation, dust the rolled treats with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
  2. Portion Control: Slice the rolled treats into even portions using a sharp knife for uniform servings.
  3. Room Temperature Serving: Allow the treats to come to room temperature before serving to enhance their chewy texture and flavors.
  4. Store with Care: Store any leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days to maintain freshness.
  5. Freeze for Later: For longer storage, wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
