Ingredients

For the Topping:

  •  1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  •  1 cup brown sugar, packed
  •  1 cup all-purpose flour
  •  1 cup old-fashioned oats
  •  1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  •  1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  •  1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  •  1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  •  1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
  •  1 cup granulated sugar
  •  1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  •  1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  •  1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  •  2 large eggs
  •  1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

1. Preheat Your Oven:

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prepare for baking.

2. Prepare the Topping:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is crumbly. Set aside.

3. Mix the Pumpkin Filling:

  •  In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, eggs, and evaporated milk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

4. Assemble the Crisp:

  •  Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

5. Add the Topping:

  • Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the pumpkin filling, ensuring that it covers the entire surface.

6. Bake the Crisp:

  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. The topping should be golden brown and the filling set. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.

7. Cool and Serve:

  • Allow the Pumpkin Pie Crisp to cool slightly before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Serve on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special touch.

Notes

Serving Tips:

  • Serve Warm or at Room Temperature: Pumpkin Pie Crisp can be enjoyed warm, straight from the oven, or at room temperature. Warming it slightly before serving can enhance the flavors and make the topping even more deliciously crisp.
  • Pair with Whipped Cream or Ice Cream: For an extra indulgent treat, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The creamy toppings complement the warm, spiced pumpkin filling perfectly.
  • Garnish for Presentation: Sprinkle a little extra ground cinnamon or nutmeg over the top just before serving for a touch of added flavor and visual appeal.

Storage Tips:

  • Refrigerate Leftovers: Store any leftover Pumpkin Pie Crisp in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep well for up to 4-5 days.
  • Reheat Properly: To reheat, cover the crisp with aluminum foil to prevent the topping from burning and warm it in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until heated through. You can also microwave individual portions on medium power for 30-60 seconds.
  • Freeze for Later: If you’d like to keep the Pumpkin Pie Crisp for a longer period, it can be frozen. Let the crisp cool completely, then cover it tightly with plastic wrap and aluminum foil. It can be frozen for up to 2-3 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and warm in the oven as described above.

With these serving and storage tips, you can ensure your Pumpkin Pie Crisp remains delicious and fresh, ready to enjoy whenever you crave a taste of fall.
