Ingredients
- ¼ cup (57 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 ounces (112 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (268 g) peanut butter, smooth or crunchy
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups (170 g) powdered sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (170 g) peanut butter chips
- 1–2 cups (173–340 g) mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Cream together butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter using a hand or stand mixer until smooth.
- Mix in vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, half a cup at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Fold in peanut butter chips.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into a ball.
- Wrap the ball in plastic wrap and place it in a bowl to prevent a flat bottom.
- Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours or overnight until firm.
- If needed, let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to make rolling easier.
- Spread mini chocolate chips on a plate, unwrap the cheese ball, and roll it in the chips, pressing gently to adhere.
- Serve with dippers like pretzels, cookies, or celery, either at room temperature or chilled.
Notes
- Serve the cheese ball dip with a variety of dippers such as pretzels, graham crackers, cookies, sliced apples, or celery sticks.
- For a decorative presentation, place the cheese ball on a serving platter and surround it with your choice of dippers.
- Store the cheese ball wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Allow the cheese ball to sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes before serving to make it easier to scoop or spread.
- Avoid freezing, as it may change the texture and make the chocolate coating fall off.
