  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

Enjoy a taste of nostalgia with this Old Time Oven Peach Cobbler. This classic dessert combines sweet, juicy peaches with a warm, buttery crust, spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon. Perfect for any occasion, this easy-to-make cobbler is a crowd-pleaser. Serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra touch of indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 large can of sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Batter: In an 8 x 8 baking dish, combine the Bisquick mix, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Peaches: In a medium mixing bowl, mix the sugar with the drained peaches until the peaches are well coated.
  4. Assemble the Cobbler: Spoon the sugared peaches over the Bisquick batter in the baking dish. The peaches will sink into the batter as it bakes, creating a delicious cobbler crust.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes to one hour, or until the crust is a golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Serve: Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

Serving Tips

  1. Warm and Fresh: Serve the peach cobbler warm, straight from the oven. The contrast between the hot cobbler and cold ice cream is delightful.
  2. Add a Scoop of Ice Cream: Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra layer of richness.
  3. Garnish with Fresh Fruit: Add a few fresh peach slices or berries on top for a burst of freshness and color.
  4. Sprinkle with Nuts: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the cobbler for added crunch and a nutty flavor.

Storage Tips

  1. Refrigeration: Store leftover peach cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat individual servings in the microwave or oven.
  2. Freezing: Peach cobbler can be frozen for longer storage. Place cooled cobbler in a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion. Freeze for up to 2-3 months.
  3. Reheating: For the best texture, reheat frozen peach cobbler in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through. If reheating from refrigerated, a microwave can be used for convenience.
  4. Avoid Soggy Crust: To keep the crust from becoming soggy, store the cobbler separately from any ice cream or whipped cream toppings.
