Instructions
Mixing the Batter
Whisk together melted butter and the next 5 ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
2. Adding Flour and Pecans
Stir in flour and chopped pecans until just incorporated.
3. Baking the Brownies
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 15 x 10-inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
4. Adding Marshmallows
Remove from the oven and immediately top the warm cake evenly with marshmallows. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the marshmallows to melt and puff slightly.
5. Drizzling Chocolate Frosting
While still warm, drizzle Chocolate Frosting over the top of the cake.
for Chocolate Frosting:
Beat all frosting ingredients together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Time-Saving Tip:
If you’re short on time, you can substitute 2 (19.5-ounce) packages of brownie mix instead of making the brownies from scratch.
Notes
Serving Tips:
- Cooling Time: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. This helps them set and prevents them from crumbling.
- Cutting: For clean and neat cuts, use a sharp knife and wipe it clean between cuts. This helps maintain the appearance of the brownies.
- Garnish: Consider garnishing each brownie square with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or additional chopped pecans for added texture and presentation.
- Pairing: Serve these rich brownies with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert experience.
Storage Tips:
- Room Temperature: Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Ensure they are fully cooled before storing.
- Refrigeration: To extend their shelf life, store the brownies in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
- Freezing: Brownies can be frozen for longer storage. Wrap individual squares tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil or place them in a freezer-safe container. They will keep well frozen for up to 2-3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
These tips ensure your brownies stay fresh and delicious, whether you’re serving them immediately or storing them for later enjoyment.
