Ingredients

For the Brownies

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 10 tablespoons butter, cubed
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups miniature marshmallows

For the Chocolate Frosting

  • ½ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 3½ cups powdered sugar, sifted

Instructions

Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or grease well.
  2. Melt chocolate and butter together in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar, eggs, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Mix in flour just until incorporated.
  5. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the center is just set.
  7. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over hot brownies and return to oven for 2 minutes until puffed.

Frosting

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter, cocoa powder, and milk over medium heat until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until creamy.
  3. Pour frosting evenly over marshmallow layer.
  4. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
