Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp onion soup mix
  • ½ cup Bisquick
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan and set it aside.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess grease, then spread the mixture evenly in the greased pie pan.
  3. Layer Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat mixture in the pie pan.
  4. Prepare Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, onion soup mix, Bisquick, and eggs until well combined.
  5. Pour Mixture: Pour the milk and egg mixture over the cheese layer in the pie pan, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  6. Bake: Place the pie pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the pie is set and golden brown on top.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Serve slices with your favorite toppings such as ketchup, mustard, pickles, or lettuce for a complete cheeseburger experience.
