  • Author: Lusine Svetlana

Description

If you are looking for a tasty way to enjoy fresh asparagus, Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks are the perfect choice. This recipe combines tender asparagus spears with a crunchy Parmesan coating, creating a snack or side dish that is both satisfying and flavorful. Whether you want a quick appetizer or a healthy addition to your meal, these asparagus sticks will not disappoint.

Ingredients

  • Fresh asparagus spears, trimmed

  • All-purpose flour

  • Eggs, beaten

  • Panko breadcrumbs

  • Grated Parmesan cheese

  • Garlic powder

  • Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour.

  • In another bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.

  • In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well.

  • Lightly coat each asparagus spear with flour, shaking off excess.

  • Dip the floured asparagus into the beaten eggs, ensuring full coverage.

  • Roll the asparagus sticks in the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  • Place the coated asparagus sticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Serve Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks immediately after baking to enjoy their best crispiness and flavor. They pair wonderfully with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo. For a complete meal, serve alongside grilled chicken, fish, or a fresh salad.

If you have leftovers, allow the asparagus sticks to cool completely before storing. Place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to two days. To reheat and retain their crunch, warm them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes rather than using a microwave, which can make them soggy.
