Notes
• Serve Warm or Room Temperature: This bread is delicious slightly warm or completely cooled. Serve slices plain, with a pat of butter, or a drizzle of powdered sugar glaze for added sweetness.
• Great for Breakfast or Dessert: Pair it with coffee in the morning or serve it as a cozy dessert with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
• Add a Glaze: For an extra bakery-style finish, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk once the bread has cooled.
• Room Temperature Storage: Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Make sure it’s fully cooled before sealing to avoid condensation.
• Refrigerator Storage: To keep it fresh longer, refrigerate it in a sealed container for up to 5 days. Let slices come to room temperature or warm them before serving.
• Freezer Friendly: Wrap the whole loaf or individual slices tightly in plastic wrap and then foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge or at room temperature.
• Reheating Tips: Reheat slices in the microwave for about 10–15 seconds to revive that fresh-from-the-oven warmth and aroma.
• Avoid Overheating: When reheating, avoid microwaving for too long as it can dry out the bread.
• Best Fresh: Although it’s freezer-friendly, the bread tastes best within the first couple of days of baking.
• Perfect for Gifting: Wrap in parchment or wax paper and tie with twine for a lovely homemade gift during holidays or special occasions.
