Description
Air Fryer Tacos are the perfect solution when you want restaurant-style crispy tacos without buying store-bought shells or heating up a pot of oil. Made with simple ingredients and ready in just 30 minutes, these tacos deliver crunchy corn tortillas filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese. Using the air fryer makes them lighter, less messy, and incredibly easy, making this recipe ideal for busy weeknights or casual family dinners.
Ingredients
For the tacos
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 corn tortillas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Taco toppings
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Black olives
- Sour cream
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it apart, until fully browned.
- Drain excess grease, then add the taco seasoning along with the water called for on the seasoning packet. Simmer for a few minutes until the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat.
- Wrap the corn tortillas in a towel and microwave for 1 minute to make them pliable.
- Working in batches, fill four tortillas with seasoned ground beef and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Fold each tortilla in half to form a taco and lightly brush the outside with olive oil.
- Place the tacos in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Use toothpicks or a trivet to keep them from opening if needed.
- Air fry at 400°F for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove cooked tacos and repeat with the remaining tortillas.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, or your favorite taco toppings before serving.
Notes
- Serve the tacos immediately for the best crunch and flavor.
- Pair with Mexican rice, refried beans, guacamole, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, place tacos in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes until crispy. Avoid microwaving to prevent soggy shells.
- You can also prep the filling in advance and assemble tacos just before serving.
