Description

Apple Pie Donut Holes are a quick and comforting treat that combines the warm flavors of classic apple pie with the crispy, golden texture of fried donuts. Made with just a few simple ingredients, these bite-sized delights are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. The use of cinnamon applesauce gives them natural sweetness and moisture, while the cinnamon sugar coating adds a delicious finishing touch. With minimal prep time and fast cooking, this recipe is ideal for busy days when you want something homemade and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup cinnamon applesauce
  • Canola or vegetable oil for frying
  • Cinnamon sugar for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the self-rising flour and cinnamon applesauce until a thick dough forms without overmixing
  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F ensuring it is at least 2 inches deep
  3. Scoop 1 tablespoon portions of dough and carefully drop them into the hot oil
  4. Fry a few at a time for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown
  5. Remove donut holes using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain
  6. Allow them to cool slightly for 1–2 minutes
  7. Roll the warm donut holes in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated
  8. Serve immediately while warm for best taste and texture
